this was only the second time i’ve made it out to see the pens practice. it was brought up in conversation last weekend and we decided today would be a good day. my sister and i got everything together went and got my brother out of school and we were on our way.
it’s a good drive (about 30 mins lol) and feels longer each time. we got there and practice had already started (damn!). i could sit there and watch practice all day. practice was very upbeat and loud today. not just the players…the whole place seemed loud. there was a bunch of “junior reporters” with their families. (for anyone that doesn’t know the junior reporters are little kids that are chosen to interview a player and the video plays at the game, online, etc.) you could tell the families of the “reporters” were so excited even if they were left behind when the kids entered the press area.
nothing is more adorable to me than a little kid so excited to see the penguins that he can’t even sit still. i had the pleasure of sitting beside one of these little kids. so awesome :) oh and babies in crosby jerseys. yup, pretty sure that’s the most adorable thing to ever happen.
had some good sibling bonding today in and outside the rink. my sister got fleury to sign her jersey so i would say standing in the cold for two hours was a success. ;)
